JSI uses EpiSurveyor for Malaria Monitoring in Ghana
This week, our partners at John Snow, Inc (JSI) and Management Sciences for Health (MSH) are using EpiSurveyor Mobile Version 1.0 (released last week) for their PMI End-Use Malaria Monitoring Activity (EMMA). EMMA is a quarterly activity conducted in 15 PMI focus countries to monitor and assess the availability of malaria commodities at the health facility level. EpiSurveyor will provide much needed standardization of the EMMA process, along with quicker, more accurate standardized analysis across the countries each quarter, and is being piloted right now in Ghana for this purpose.
This morning, JSI led detailed training of EpiSurveyor for the survey teams. In the afternoon, the team conducted a quick dry-run at a health facility in Accra. Across the board, the trained users expressed enthusiasm and are looking forward to using EpiSurveyor in the field for the rest of the week! On our tech-side, we are enthusiastic to see the positive energy and ready to take on any issues and/or questions that may come up during the pilot process!
